I hope all us librarians will add some library and information terms as well!

Hi Amanda! Thanks for leaving a comment!

    I absolutely share your hope.

Maybe the Nursing Research section would be a good place for medical librarians to contribute?

Where would we start, though? I’m not sure I know enough to write about research that applies specifically to nursing. Maybe medlibs could write guides to effective use of PubMed, OVID, and/or other search tools?

I have a really good list of nursing RSS feeds from my friend Frankie at Medworm.com. Do you think that would be an appropriate contribution, or too geeky to be helpful?

    Amanda:

Yes, that’s the thing I have to get over when it comes to wikis. I always think there must be someone out there, somewhere who knows more on this topic than I do. (I suppose that is very librarian-ish of me: “I am not the expert, but I can find out who is.”) But of course, that is also the beauty of wikis, we can start something small and someone else will finish it.

So here is my initial (one sentence) contribution: http://en.nursingwiki.org/wiki/Evidence-based_nursing

I think we could come up with a short list of terms for a few of us med/hospital librarians to contribute to. And I certainly don’t think nursing RSS feeds would be too geeky a topic, as those using wikis are more likely to be slightly tech-savvy/geeky anyway!
