Library Career Videos & OPAC Suckage
These videos describing library careers were recently posted on YouTube (with embedding disabled).
Librarians
Library Technicians
Library Assistants
From the Library Technicians video (about 30 seconds in):
“…they handle a range of duties, from helping librarians with customizing databases to helping patrons wade through a computerized cataloguing system.” [my emphasis]

This description of using the OPAC brings to mind the “Our OPAC Sucks” discussion. Or am I perhaps reading too much into this? Doesn’t this wording suggest that the OPAC is a chore to use?
I also find myself wondering how much time can pass before these career descriptions are no longer reasonably accurate.
I have not been able to determine for certain where these videos came from or who produced them, but I also found them here in streaming Real Media and Windows Media Video formats (scroll down the alphabetical list until you get to Librar*).
