Friday Fun: A bit of Fry and Laurie, Library Sketch

A scene from A Bit of Fry and Laurie:

I continue to be surprised how many fans of House, MD hadn’t previously heard of Hugh Laurie (or the wonderful Stephen Fry).

    Katy:

    Hi, David.

I love the whole gang. Like you with Hugh Laurie, I am constantly amazed at the number of people who don’t realize or know how funny Emma Thompson is, or that her roots are in comedy. Or Imelda Staunton for that matter. Stephen Fry, Hugh Laurie, Emma Thompson, Imelda Staunton, and Kenneth Branagh, well, I always liked seeing them work together.

What I didn’t realize was how much work Stephen Fry does these days. He does a lot of radio in the UK. He’s a comedy legend over there, from my reading at least. Which makes me think, the human population isn’t as far gone as I had thought, if they admire and revere someone as intelligent and clever as Stephen Fry is.

    As always, thanks, David.

    David Rothman:

Glad you enjoyed it, Katy. :)

My understanding of Fry is that he is regarded in the UK, beyond being a comedy legend, as a national treasure.

Rightly so, too. Brilliant, hilarious man.

I am a House fan and have just bought ‘Jeeves and Wooster’ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeeves_and_Wooster

Was fun in the early 90s and still is very amusing :-) .
