My understanding of Fry is that he is regarded in the UK, beyond being a comedy legend, as a &lt;em&gt;national treasure&lt;/em&gt;.

I love the whole gang. Like you with Hugh Laurie, I am constantly amazed at the number of people who don&#039;t realize or know how funny Emma Thompson is, or that her roots are in comedy. Or Imelda Staunton for that matter. Stephen Fry, Hugh Laurie, Emma Thompson, Imelda Staunton, and Kenneth Branagh, well, I always liked seeing them work together. 

What I didn&#039;t realize was how much work Stephen Fry does these days. He does a lot of radio in the UK. He&#039;s a comedy legend over there, from my reading at least. Which makes me think, the human population isn&#039;t as far gone as I had thought, if they admire and revere someone as intelligent and clever as Stephen Fry is.
