The misinformation is alarming. There's an "expert" on FOX News (Holtorf, I believe) that sounded good on TV, but a quick internet search showed that he did not treat anything that was an infectious disease (bioidentical hormone replacement, fibromyalgia, etc). he was big on the "mercury" content issue, but there's been mercury in vaccines ever since there's been vaccines.

Anyway, I'm glad that people are getting the vaccine! I'm low on the list around here, and I'm happy to let others go first for awhile. If some is available, though, I'll certainly get the vaccine.

Must be nice. We are so far down on the totem pole that I'll probably get H1N1 before I get vaccinated for it.

I can't get the live, attenuated (nasal spray) vaccine due to asthma and diabetes, but the local health department is rolling out the shots in November around the community, and I plan to be there early because:

1) I work in a children's hospital.
2) I have underlying health conditions (diabetes, asthma).
3) I also work as a cashier handling thousands of dollars in snotty money a day.
4) I ride a bus around town almost every day. With kids! And snot!

Anyway, seems like a plan. I don't understand the hysteria myself. Granted, I remember (barely) the problems of the 70s vaccine, but science has come a long way, baby. I love the graphic above. 'Look behind you!' Ah, the dreaded flu dragon. You know the most insane thing out there? Swine flu parties! I am not joking, unfortunately. It should be criminal to take your child to be infected with a potentially life-threatening virus.
