Listen to Punk. LibPunk.
So I listened to the first LibPunk podcast and can honestly say I’ve never so enjoyed listening to libaryfolk talk about librarianating.

Dude. Lots of people hatin’ on LibPunk.

the establishment always hates on the punks (please ignore the irony that is Vivian Westwood)

Dude. Someone has issues with empowerment in the absence of a Y chromosome.

I commented on your post as well. Thank you for highlighting this. It’s great to hear passionate librarians talking about their profession. Great replacement for Uncontrolled Vocabulary.

Really?? You must be easily entertained. FYI- this podcast is not safe for work unless you have your ‘phones on.

Great that it’s there…but after listening (well, I’m doing that now), I’m reminded why podcasts don’t work…for me. (Lack of commute? Inability to listen & hear while really doing anything else? Being old, and absorbing a lot faster from reading?) I had the same problem with UV, so, well, it’s not LibPunk, it’s me.

Why yes, I *am* easily entertained! This is easily the most entertaining librar* podcast I’ve heard, though. Agreed, the podcast is NSFW- and the hosts offer a disclaimer stating this at the beginning of each episode. Thanks for the comment, Hannah!

Thanks, Jeff! And Walt, I don’t really like podcasts either.

This podcast is barely worth mentioning.
May 4th, 2010 at 12:04 pm
You’re certainly entitled to that opinion, Mark!
Tired as I am of really boring librar* podcasts (since the end of Uncontrolled Vocabulary), I was tickled to get to listen to one that didn’t put me to sleep.
One of the nice things about having one’s own blog is that one gets to decide what is worth mentioning on it.
Thanks for the comment!

I loved this podcast and I was far too lazy to blog about it, so I’m glad someone else did. Keep up the good work!

I could hear them chewing. Sounded like a bunch of feedtube seacows.
May 4th, 2010 at 12:22 pm
[Regards Mark cautiously]
Ooookay.
Note to podcasters: Mark doesn’t like to hear chewing sounds. If you value his listenership (and I know you do), best to try to keep a lid on those, ‘kay?
[Whispers to Mark:] You say it isn’t worth mentioning, but you’ve now commented twice about it- neither time with any substance. I think you secretly LOVE this podcast and it’s hosts. Don’t worry, I won’t tell.

Okay, I checked- that was Amy on the podcast eatin’.
Also, wouldn’t a feeding tube = ABSENCE of chewing? And in what circumstances would a sea cow have a feeding tube?
I’m not a vet medlib, so I don’t know these things.

Thanks for mentioning this David. I didn’t know about this. I miss Uncontrolled Vocabulary and this is a great substitute. It’s nice to listen to people very passionate about their profession.
